Kure It Cancer ResearchSince 2007 the CSSA has partnered with the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Kure It Cancer Research to raise money for underfunded cancers. Barry Hoeven, founder and chairman of US Storage Centers and SSA Hall of Fame Member, started Kure It in 2007 after he was diagnosed with kidney cancer. As of late 2015 Kure It has raised over $4,000,000 and has funded ground breaking research programs at UCSF, USC, UCLA, City of Hope and more. Through working directly with the CSSA and its generous members, Kure It has over $300,000 through its annual charity events such as the wild and fun and Balboa Bay Cruise. In 2015 Kure It presented a $200,000 check on behalf of the CSSA to UCSF’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. This donation is funding a groundbreaking research program in a rare and deadly childhood brain cancer. Without this donation the program could not have started when it did. What makes this partnership unique is that operators and vendors alike volunteer, donate and get involved to help make a difference and fight a battle that most of us face in some way or another. Call us today to see how you can get involved and show your support. |
